FAUX FINISHES

Faux Finish: faux stems from the french word meaning "FALSE" in the sense of decorative painting it means to create an illusion using paint. Incorporating techniques such as sponging, washing, stippling or ragging, the artist can make a surface appear to be something it is not. Example: Wood to look like marble, or an ordinary house wall to look like stone.
